I'm bored of the boring faces I draw, so I sketched some photo-referenced "interesting" faces today.

Technically the first drawing I've done since ever, it seems. Whatever happened to that mermaid lineart I did?

We have a lot more manga in my store all of a sudden. So, the only natural, LOGICAL thing to do is to read all the girly teen manga during extremely slow shifts.

Manga girls in manga high school (hold on, trying to hit my "manga" quota, and then some) sure are MANGA ANGRY.

Anyway. Lots of manga (manga, manga, manga) leads to drawing manga-style characters. Here are some Manga Angry (Mangangry? Mangary?) girls.

Because I "haven't updated" in a long time or something. Have a quick concept drawing I did of the 3/4 walk cycle we have to do for the summer commercial class. Darren wants it to be a sultry girl, so I did what wound up being a Jessica Rabbit knockoff.

I'll probably change it to be more Josephine Baker-meets-Billie Holliday...not that it matters, because it'll just wind up being messy circles with legs, hips and tiny feet. Yup! Kora lives!

Ariel, who always winds up appearing in my sketchbook when I'm in a slump. I coloured it (halfway) to see how it looked with cell-shading. Someone who's better at cell-shading should colour it - that was the verdict. (Don't say anything about the ugly background, or I'll throw photoshop at you.)

Someday I'll post my half-written entry about England.

I was drawing another Tudor (okay, a Boleyn) and I got the antses-in-the-pantses to do some Polish 16th Century costuming. So a WIP, but rediscovering the fun of pencils is, well, fun. I hope I can finish this and make it something nice. I suspect she's a bobblehead, but I'm not yet removed enough to be able to tell.

Here's the truth: I did wind up using this journal for a great deal many things (limited to rambling and posting drawings).
